This page explains when LFG applies moderation measures, what a suspension means in practice, and how you can contest a decision.
It complements our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. The data processing behind these measures is described in the Privacy Policy.
1. Why we apply moderation measures
We act to protect players and the service: when the Terms or the Community Guidelines are broken, when content is illegal or clearly abusive, or when an account puts other users at risk.
We look at what happened, at the reports received and at any repetition before deciding.
2. Temporary and permanent suspensions
A temporary suspension has an end date, which the app shows you together with a countdown. A permanent suspension has no end date and is applied to serious or repeated violations.
3. What a suspension means in practice
- the social features of LFG — matching, chat, Board, requests, reviews — are unavailable;
- your session stays active, so Settings, the legal pages and support remain reachable;
- any active subscription keeps running on its own terms: a suspension is not a refund;
- during a temporary suspension, deleting the account from Settings is not available until it ends, but you can still submit a deletion request;
- with a permanent suspension, deleting the account from Settings stays available.
4. When a temporary suspension ends
Access to the social features returns automatically when the end date passes. You do not need to contact us, and the countdown in the app does not unlock anything by itself: the check is always made by our servers.
5. Ban evasion
Creating a new account, or using somebody else's, to get around a suspension is a breach of the Terms.
For permanent suspensions we keep the minimum pseudonymised information needed to recognise a return. If a new account matches it, the account is created but immediately suspended. We do not publish how this recognition works, and we do not use device fingerprinting for it.
6. Contesting a decision
If you believe a measure is wrong or disproportionate, you can contest it by writing to lookingforgroup.community@gmail.com from an address we can associate with the account.
7. What to include in your appeal
- the nickname of the suspended account;
- when you noticed the measure and what the app showed you;
- why you think the decision is wrong, with any context we may be missing;
- anything that helps us verify that the account is yours.
8. How we handle appeals
We review the case again, together with the reports and the history connected to it. LFG is run by one person, so we cannot promise a fixed response time: we answer within a reasonable time and we may ask for more information.
The outcome can be: the measure is confirmed, reduced, or lifted. Where possible and lawful, we explain the reason.
9. Revoking a permanent measure
A permanent measure, and the pseudonymised record kept to prevent evasion, can be revoked administratively after a review. Revoking that record does not restore a deleted account or its content, which cannot be recovered.
Reviews are carried out when we reassess a case; an internal review date is not an automatic expiry.
